About Woke Wear

Woke Wear is a groundbreaking youth development program under the Diversity & Equal Opportunity Network (DEON). Our mission is to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and access (DEIBA) while tackling waste in the fashion industry. Through upcycling unsold or donated fashion items, we provide students with valuable skills and create sustainable fashion, reducing the industry's carbon footprint.

Our Mission

We’re dedicated to empowering youth, promoting sustainability, and driving positive change within the community. Woke Wear rescues returned, unsold, or donated items from the apparel industry, turning them into innovative and unique products that fuel environmental and social impact. A majority of the proceeds support our youth programs, fostering new skills in design, production, and marketing.

Key Objectives

Environmental Conservation: Reducing waste by upcycling clothing that would otherwise be incinerated.

Skill Development: Equipping students with hands-on experience in fashion design, business, and sustainability.

Purpose: Show the final results of the students' work, encouraging visitors to support or purchase. Proceeds from upcycled sales go back into the program and to the student designer to ensuring long-term growth.

Diversity & Inclusion: Providing opportunities for underrepresented youth to thrive and succeed.

How You Can Support

The Woke Wear initiative is ready to make a profound impact on youth development, sustainability, and inclusion—but we can't do it alone. Without critical funding and support, this innovative program cannot begin. We need your help to turn this vision into reality.

Financial Support: Your donations will directly fund the program, covering the costs of materials, workshops, and mentorship for our youth participants.

Grant Writing & Fundraising: We are actively seeking grant writers and fundraising experts to help secure the resources necessary to launch and sustain Woke Wear.

Partnerships & In-Kind Contributions: If you represent a business or organization, consider partnering with us or offering in-kind contributions such as materials, services, or expertise.

Why It Matters

Without your support, the opportunity to equip young people with essential skills in sustainable fashion and entrepreneurship will be lost.

The fashion industry will continue contributing to environmental harm without alternative solutions like Woke Wear to reduce waste and promote responsible practices.

By investing in Woke Wear, you are not only backing a cause that fosters diversity and sustainability but also empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders. Your contribution can make this vision a reality
